There are quite a few versions you can pick from. None of english versions are completely translated at the moment, but you can ignore untranslated characters. Also take everything you will read here with a grain of salt.

Untranslated japanese version for chads: you can get it from japanese touhou era uploader http://book-shelf-end.com/up2/index.html , user and password is era. It's more space efficient than translations, fits on 1024*768 monitors.

English version maintained by this wiki maintainers, you can get it from main page of this wiki or from git. There is eratohoTW-eng-release.zip which wasn't updated from 2019, and there is eratohoTW-eng-dev.zip which wasn't updated for 4 months as of now. [[Pedy's TW]] version, which was more actively maintained for a while, and also uses EvilMask's version of EmuEra, which added commands for freeing memory. Overall difference isn't too significant, it's mostly quality of life changes, and translations are shared between all versions anyway. At one point Pedy replaced all characters from touhou 18 with PC-98 era characters out of some sort of hateboner, which resulted in creation of [[AnonTW]] fork. However, it might be unstable and may have slower performance. This branch is for those who are looking for a different take on TW or find that other branches doesn't have their fetish. = Hints =
Check options. Trying to impregnate somebody for a month, only to find out that pregnancy is disabled in options is not fun.

Check achievements. Despite the name, they often give really useful abilities which can't be obtained in any other way.

Keep hostility low (below 100/1000) and grind their favorability/horniness. Or ignore their hostility and go the sex friend route. Some characters have alternative dialogues for that.

= Gameplay =
Gain money, raise stats, get trust. Or do nothing and just wank in your room all day. The choice is yours.<br/>
The game consists of two parts. The first is the sleep or home menu, here some settings can be changed, and progress can be saved. Waking up puts the player in the game proper. They can explore and walk around maps and interact with people.<br/>

Talk twice, give tea, then wait a little awhile. Repeat until you got 200 favor, than try to skinship as well. When you get enough Speech skill try to talk more times before giving tea. Repeat until hugging can commence. Then do everything previous and hugging until being pushed down.

How to make my girls naked and train exposure for them?

For better training exposure skill and for fun you can choose "naked shirt" clothes as casual wear and steal the panties.
At first you need 3 Lewd marks, [Lust] or [Sex-Friend/Mistress] or [Love/Lover] with character. Then change partner's clothes in next order:
* Change clothes -> partner name -> change sleepwear -> have them sleep naked
* Change casual wear -> Change costume -> Cosplay costumes -> Naked shirt
* Steal characters panties
* Favorites -> Set current cloth as favorite ->confirm

Alternative method: Once you've reached Yearning or higher, have the character wear a skirt and steal her underwear, then use the [Time Stop] skill or [Lead Around] to bring the character to a secluded area, then use [Sex. har.] - [Lift skirt], click any other one that does not upset her, and repeat.

How to impregnate [character]?

First of all make sure pregnancy is enabled in the options in the sleep menu.
To determine if the character is impregnated the game compares your impregnation score (filling rate multiplied by the character's menstrual cycle) to a random number between 1 and the character's impregnation resistance (depends on the character's race).
Detailed explanation can be found on the following chart:

Filling rate is greatly increased by finishing inside with [73] Cervix Tease, and moderately increased by normal creampie + creampie addiction (up to lvl 6).
It can be hard to achieve 100% filling rate even with 1000ml so more = better! There is a cheat option to show the exact rate.

* Most of the "everyday" commands have a critical chance, the game rolls a number from 0 to 100 and if it is below 9 a crit occurs, if you gained reliability during conversation this was the reason, critical chance never changes and the effect of a critical depends on the command
* Ejaculation quantity can be increased by Vigor above maximum, the number does not matter, what does is your percentage above maximum, for example 2800/1400 and 3000/1500 would be the same thing

= Accessing Cheat Menu =
After ending a day (or loading a save file), you'll have access to the "Wake Up" menu, where you can access the tutorial and options menus, among numerous other things. If you select the options menu, you should get a long string of choices that change the game somewhat. Looking at the header that says "Select an Option", you'll see that it's flanked on either side by a pair of stars. Clicking on either pair will bring you to the cheat menu, where you'll be able to make drastic alterations to yourself and the many girls. It should be noted that changes made to mob characters don't really stick, likely due to the fact that they despawn after around 8pm.

Here will be reported features that can be seen while playing, but that don't actually work (or only partially) yet :

-Fall state : [Slave], it's shown, but it only make you able to act how you wish toward the char without risking for them to get Hate Marks.
To obtain it, you have to ask for the body of a character you win a lethal combat against.
Partially implemented.

-Shinki stuff :
Questline : even if she says so, it's actually impossible to pay her money for now.

Unique command : Most of options from clicking "Contact the Makai God" aren't functional, only the first (1) and the third (3) work.

-Some weapons appear in the Mixing menu, even though they are not craftable for some reasons.

-Some bionic enhancement such as "Esper Reader" don't work when applied to a character.

-PnL Automation don't work, no matter the version you buy/craft.

-Achievements unique to NAS don't work for the majority.

-Makai is under development for most of it.

-Sumeriko's quest which should give the player ESP doesn't exist for now.

=Preparation=
Your skills and your weapon determine your success the most. You may have a good weapon, but without the skills to show for it, you won't be able to hit the broad side of a barn. Conversely, if you are a good shot but only have a .22LR pistol, you won't be killing anything any time soon. It is essential to train up your skill that your weapon corresponds to. Danmaku corresponds to the Danamku Skill, Firearms are helped with the shooting skill, and Melee weapons are enhanced with the Melee skill. Being great at one combat stat (Danmaku, Shooting or Melee) is better than being decent at all three.

Be aware that Danamku requires 200 Danmaku EXP to be earned before you can use Danmaku, or if you find an [[User:Mr Pops Alot/Esper|Esper]] trainer who can give you [[Practical Talents/Esper Knowledge|Esper Knowledge]]. If you started out as a Youkai, you will not have to get 200 Danmaku EXP to start using Danmaku, but it's still recommended to train up to A 11 to be ready to fight most enemies

Training combat skills consume your STA and ENE a lot. Be sure not to deplete your energy at mid of the day. Take a break: bath or eat/cook some food.

Fights give you a lot of Combat EXP depending on what weapon you used, but is extremely risky, especially at low levels of skill.

Helping others with jobs is also helpful a lot. Keep in mind that this will also put you in a lethal combat battle, but the enemies are usually weaker than you.

Example: Helping Orin with deal against vengeful spirits in underworld. Orin work a half day and five days per week. All characters have exercise in certain outdoors locations. Helping them with training gives you also extra favorability.

Training in outdoors in bad weather takes more STA and ENE per actions, but gives you maxSTA and maxENE instead.

Melee combat has strengths and weaknesses. While a character can bash with a gun barrel in melee, a fighter with a dedicated melee weapon remains much more effective. However, a brawler may get shot down during their approach. Armor was designed to solve that problem.

*Skilled melee characters have the ability to evade melee attacks when fighting. When the melee blow is dodged, it will always miss, regardless of whether or not it is supposed to hit.
*Blunt melee attacks don't cause bleeding (unless a body part is destroyed), but they have a chance to stun enemies for a short time on hit. In addition, most pieces of armor will protect poorly against blunt attacks.

The attack priority is shown on the top, which shows who's turn it is, who will go next, as well as implying who has already acted within the turn.

Turns are self explanatory. The only catch here is that there is a 150 turn ultimatum that will forcefully end the fight with no winner. This is usually not hit unless there's ridiculous circumstances such as low accuracy weapons, or incompetent shooters vs incompetent shooters.

You can attack normally, or attack precisely. Attacking normally will target a random body part, but most likely you will end up hitting the torso. Precise shot can be used to specifically target a body part in case you don't want to kill the target, or if you're aiming at the target's head. Taking cover will put you in a random cover piece which can stop some rounds. Tending wounds will tend all of your current wounds and give you 500 STA, but at the cost of your turn. Reloading is self explanatory. Switching weapon will allow you to switch your weapon to another weapon that you already own. Retreating ends the fight if you are more powerful than the enemy, else there's a chance that you might not escape. Submitting ends the fight, but leaves you getting raped or robbed, and ends your day immediately.

Skills allows you to use a spell card that you have in your loadout, as well as using Danmaku items during battle.

If the game detects too many misses from both sides, or hits the 150 round ultimatum, the fight will forcefully end with no winner, printing out a warning message

'''Death''' can happen to a character under several conditions, it's not always the end for them (or you), but it depends on your input most the time.

First of all, it's a '''toggeable content''', so it can be deactivated if you do not wish to see your favorite character die in front of you.

If deactivated, nobody will die.

== Causes of death ==

Here will be listed every way possible to die for characters.

- if Stamina hit -500 while having some fun with a partner, the character will die from exhaustion. Sometimes, it's better to let them go to sleep !
Can happens to them even while being forced into non-consensual sexual relationships.

- if blood quantity fall to 0, the character will die.

- the destruction or harvestation of one or a pair of vital organs will causes death, no matter the character. Vital means : both kidneys/both lungs/heart/brain/liver.
Destruction can happen because of multiple hit on one organ in a lethal fight, but it can also happen if you kick the stomach of a character multiple time.

- you can execute them at the end of a lethal or danmaku fight if you subdue them or if they throw their weapons on the ground. There is also the possiblity to execute a character when being in time stop.

Your own character can also die from these causes, so be cautious.

Actually you have no chances to actually die from a danmaku battle, because nobody will try to subdue you. Even if you found a way to do so, they will ask for money. But because you have no reason to retreat or accept to be subdued, it shouldn't happen.

== Corpses ==

When a character die, their corpse will remain most of the time.

You can do multiple things with a corpse.

Corpse can be looted. It's essentially the same as pickpocketing someone in time stop.

You can also hide them in the Graveyard of your home map, reducing the chance for them to be found. The better is to put then in a coffin and then dump them. It will allow you to get it at a later date if you wish to resurrect them, or doing other stuff.

You can harvest their organs if those aren't damaged. You can tend their wounds, which make free Medical XP, but doesn't bring them back.

Bringing them to Rin or Komachi will make you some money, '''but you will never be able to retrieve their body or resurrect them by other means''' !

eraNAS' lethal combat system may seem a little daunting to new players at first, however a few simple guidelines will have you ready to repel attacks and hold ground like a pro.

In every gunfight there is one very important lifesaving rule to remember:<br/>

=Preparation=
Your skills and your weapon determine your success the most. You may have a good weapon, but without the skills to show for it, you won't be able to hit the broad side of a barn. Conversely, if you are a good shot but only have a .22LR pistol, you won't be killing anything any time soon. It is essential to train up your skill that your weapon corresponds to. Danmaku corresponds to the Danamku Skill, Firearms are helped with the shooting skill, and Melee weapons are enhanced with the Melee skill. Being great at one combat stat (Danmaku, Shooting or Melee) is better than being decent at all three.

Be aware that Danamku requires 200 Danmaku EXP to be earned before you can use Danmaku, or if you find an [[User:Mr Pops Alot/Esper|Esper]] trainer who can give you [[Practical Talents/Esper Knowledge|Esper Knowledge]]. If you started out as a Youkai, you will not have to get 200 Danmaku EXP to start using Danmaku, but it's still recommended to train up to A 11 to be ready to fight most enemies

=== Way to train ===
Training combat skills consume your STA and ENE a lot. Be sure not to deplete your energy at mid of the day. Take a break: bath or eat/cook some food.

Fights give you a lot of Combat EXP depending on what weapon you used, but is extremely risky, especially at low levels of skill.

Helping others with jobs is also helpful a lot. Keep in mind that this will also put you in a lethal combat battle, but the enemies are usually weaker than you.

Example: Helping Orin with deal against vengeful spirits in underworld. Orin work a half day and five days per week. All characters have exercise in certain outdoors locations. Helping them with training gives you also extra favorability.

Training in outdoors in bad weather takes more STA and ENE per actions, but gives you maxSTA and maxENE instead.

== Ranged ==
Ranged combat involves the use of weapons from a distance. Pawns wielding ranged weapons will shoot at enemies, because what else did you expect them to do?

Accuracy is determined with general Combat Accuracy.

High damage per shot weapons with high penetrations such as the Broughton FA1918 will excel at this, while pistol caliber carbines, shotguns with buckshot, and handguns will struggle to significantly damage youkai. Most of the enemies you find are youkai, so this stat is a priority.

== Melee ==
Melee involves hand-to-hand combat, with or without the use of weapons. Accuracy is determined with general Combat Accuracy.

Melee combat has strengths and weaknesses. While a character can bash with a gun barrel in melee, a fighter with a dedicated melee weapon remains much more effective. However, a brawler may get shot down during their approach. Armor was designed to solve that problem.

===Other mechanics===
*Skilled melee characters have the ability to evade melee attacks when fighting. When the melee blow is dodged, it will always miss, regardless of whether or not it is supposed to hit.
*Blunt melee attacks don't cause bleeding (unless a body part is destroyed), but they have a chance to stun enemies for a short time on hit. In addition, most pieces of armor will protect poorly against blunt attacks.

The attack priority is shown on the top, which shows who's turn it is, who will go next, as well as implying who has already acted within the turn.

Turns are self explanatory. The only catch here is that there is a 150 turn ultimatum that will forcefully end the fight with no winner. This is usually not hit unless there's ridiculous circumstances such as low accuracy weapons, or incompetent shooters vs incompetent shooters.

You can attack normally, or attack precisely. Attacking normally will target a random body part, but most likely you will end up hitting the torso. Precise shot can be used to specifically target a body part in case you don't want to kill the target, or if you're aiming at the target's head. Taking cover will put you in a random cover piece which can stop some rounds. Tending wounds will tend all of your current wounds and give you 500 STA, but at the cost of your turn. Reloading is self explanatory. Switching weapon will allow you to switch your weapon to another weapon that you already own. Retreating ends the fight if you are more powerful than the enemy, else there's a chance that you might not escape. Submitting ends the fight, but leaves you getting raped or robbed, and ends your day immediately.

Skills allows you to use a spell card that you have in your loadout, as well as using Danmaku items during battle.

If the game detects too many misses from both sides, or hits the 150 round ultimatum, the fight will forcefully end with no winner, printing out a warning message

Weapons have several characteristics that make them useful in different combat situations. Firearms do consume ammunition, but you will only have to restock if you're using a specialty ammo type.
